I love the proliferation of photos from the protest yesterday, unfortunately I did not read the group post till the afternoon and so did not get there. But there are lots of photos on Flickr of this protest. This is my favorite image.

The source of all those views

About a month ago, I added a little utility to some of my pages, not including the family history ones, which show where in the world the clicks are coming from. It is quite and interesting graph.

The web site that generates them is: http://clustrmaps.com/counter/maps.php?url=http://yewenyi.net

Websites as graphs

Well this is an interesting little nick-nack. It seems to take a page and make a graph based on the tags in the page. There is no indication that it does more than one page, and the simplicity of some of the graphs probably bears this out. Here are three of my sites. For some reason this blogger site only generates blank graphs.

from left to right they are:

  2. http://360.yahoo.com/yewenyi
  3. http://yewenyi.net

Get Off the Road - A cache set in LOTR

Geocaching | coffee.geek.nz

This is an interesting Geocaching blog entry. I'm not sure how they do it as it is from an image on Flickr. I made a comment, which you can see with the picture, if you follow the link and it turns out that near there is a geocache!

geocaching and satellite images

Well maybe this is going to end up sounding like an ad. But I love the concept.

I have just discovered this new toy. Go to the link below and see some people's feet in a bit more detail. (A small prize for anyone who can guess who the owner's of the feet.) Then click on the yuan.cc maps link to see the same thing, but from our friendly geostationary satellite.

You can almost zoom in all the way. I want to know who has been painting big, blurry red dots on the M2.

Now I really wish my camera had a GPS in it, so it can automatically add the coordinates. And if it could also do bread crumbs it could draw a little line on the map with each photo taken along the way as a balloon.

The long and winding road

This is one of those silly sites. You put in a phrase and it uses google to generate text. I put in the title and got this pharagraph.

The long and winding road To the Tetons CLOSER did did did did did you see the Lightning and hear the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; Help us to wring the hearts. of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out of their distresses. He sent His Word, and healed them, and delivered them from their distress. He delivereth them, and they rebel in their counsel, And were brought low for their iniquity. Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry, And these words. Then I consulted with myself, and I m
