Well I have posted a public calendar on the web using ical. It is better than yahoo - for only 1 reason. It synchronises with my calendar on my computer with no effort. If you use an ical format application (such as apples iCal) then you can link automatically for the calendar. However I will not publish the details here.
The web site is simple and easy to use. Best of all it is free. Once you set up an account it is easy to link the calendar to the site. I have two calendars that I use, one is public, the other private. I actually subscribe to two other calendars, on anther site. One is NSW school holidays and the other, Australian Public Holidays.
